Alison Rigell is an artist, educator, and eternal student of all creative realms including but not limited to visual and performance arts, as well as the art of leadership. While adept at more traditional art forms such as drawing, painting, and sculpture, she also enjoys exploring all the ways in which art is present on a moment by moment basis of everyday life. Alison is a devout believer in the power of art beyond traditional expression: as an ever expanding opportunity to address and resolve complex issues our world continues to face. Alison received the majority of her formal education at University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana, receiving a BFA in Art Education and then completing her second BFA in New Media at Queensland College of Art in Brisbane, Australia. She has since continued her education in and outside the classroom, teaching art to students from range of diverse backgrounds and ages, through both traditional public teaching positions as well as community based arts initiatives.
